VOCABULARY-Read and understand the weekly vocabulary words.  Put the vocabulary words into your own words for understanding.

FLUENCY-Practice reading plays and stories for fluency.  Take one-minute fluency checks to see if fluency improves.  Build self-confidence in the students by re-reading the weekly stories.

COMPREHENSION-Answer comprehension questions from the story.  Write written answers to the comprehension questions or retell the story in their own words.  Find page numbers to prove the answers.

FOCUS SKILLS-Identify and use a focus skill such as fact or opinion, summarizing, etc..  Learn to find and use information from various resources, identify genre, fact or opinion, etc.
